EPISODE TWO
Why am I not losing weight, even though the fitness app says I’m in deficit?
If you’ve ever tried to lose or control your weight by using a fitness app to track your energy in, verse your energy out, you may have experienced what myself and many other women have experienced.
It works, until it doesn’t and then you sit there scratching your head wondering how it’s possible that your 500calories in deficit, but nothing is changing in your body.
For myself, and many other other women this confusion has resulted in a whole range of unpleasant emotions and thoughts.
Thoughts like:
“What’s wrong with me?”
“What am I doing wrong?”
“I SHOULD be losing weight”
“Why is this not working?”
Which lead to feeling such as – failure, guilt, shame, frustration and confusion… Perhaps your nodding your head right now, because you’ve experienced these same thoughts and feeling when it comes to food and your body.
In this episode I’ll be helping you answer some of those questions running around in your head, so (hopefully), you can reflect with curiosity and compassion rather than self-judgement, as well as walk about with a more “self-care” approach to your health rather than staying a slave to a calorie app.
I’ll be discussing:
1. Why the calorie equation on fitness apps like my fitness pal are not very accurate.
2. Factors outside of food and exercise that impact your metabolism which you may not be accounting for
3. How I help clients find energy balance without relying on the calorie equation, which you can start doing too.
As always, please share this with any one you know who would find this information helpful.
And let me know in the comments below if you have any questions!
