I am absolutely in LOVE with this smoothie combination. This is the perfect summer smoothie recipe for your breakfast, mid-morning/afternoon snack, or as a post workout meal.
The thing I love about this is the cocoa/cacao powder totally hides the green from the spinach, and the avocado makes it so creamy and filling.

Serves 1
Ingredients
Liquid Base:
- Water or organic almond milk – +Ice to thicken
Protein
- 1 scoop Natural protein powder – Vanilla or Chocolate Flavoured (I recommend Balance Natural Whey, Go Good, or JSHEALTH protein – whey or plant are both fine)
Carbohydrates
½ Banana
Healthy Fats
- ¼ large Avocado (or half a small)
- 1 tbsp Shredded coconut
Non-starchy Vegetables
- 1 Hand full of spinach
Other
- ½ tbs cacao powder
Garnish
- Cacao nibs, grated dark chocolate or sprinkle of shredded coconut.
Method
- Simply add all ingredients together into your nutri-bullet or blender (just make sure you put the liquid in BEFORE the protein powder so it doesn’t stick to the bottom).
- Top with extra garnish ingredients if you prefer!
