Here’s a nice new breakfast to try for those that are after a warmer breakfast on these cold winter mornings. Apples are also on the cheap side in winter, so it’s a good money saving alternative.
This is nutritionally balanced to help get you through the morning without hunger or cravings. High in healthy fats and fibre to optimise digestion, gut health and balance your hormones., Not to mention GOOD FOR THE SOUL because who doesn’t like apple crumble for breakfast ;). You will love this x
Serves 1
Ingredients
Protein
- 1 Serve protein powder
Carbohydrates
- 1/2 a large Apple
- 1/3 cup Oats
Healthy Fats
- 1-2 tbsp nuts/seeds
- 2 tbsp yoghurt (Greek or coconut)
- 1/2 tbsp butter (optional)
Other
- Almond milk (optional)
- Cinnamon
- 1 tsp honey
Method 1&2
- To make the stewed apple:Peel apple and chop into wedges, then transfer into a saucepan with a dash of water, cinnamon, and 1tsp of honey. Bring to boil, then lower heat and simmer whilst stirring until the apple has softened.
- For a quicker alternative, simply chop apple into wedges, add to a bowl with a dash of water, cinnamon, 1 tsp honey, and microwave for 1min. Microwave 1/3 cup oats, in 1/2 cup almond milk or water for 1 minute (adjust almond milk quantity based on the consistency you prefer). Add 1 serve of protein powder to the cooked oats. Top with stewed apple, yoghurt, granola, and cinnamon.
